Female Welfare Officer

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.      To be clear about the club’s responsibilities when running activities for children and young people. This involves:

-       Ensuring these responsibilities are understood by others

-       Promoting The FA’s RESPECT program and helping to develop best practice  

2.      To help club personnel understand what their duty of care towards children and young people actually means on a day to day basis

Responsible for:

Ensuring the coaches/managers are carrying out their duty of care when running activities for children.

Ensuring the coaches/managers have the required DBS certificates up to date.

Importantly you will be a point of contact for the children if they have any concerns about the way they are being treated

What else can you tell me about the job?

You will need to understand:

1.       FA RESPECT & Safeguarding children best practice

2.      How to refer a concern about the welfare of a child

Communicate with:

1.      Other Welfare Officers within the club

2.      County FA Welfare Officer if in need help and advice

3.       Monitor and report repeated incidents of poor behaviour & liaise with your committee around those issues or concerns

How much time will I need to give to the job?

1.       Initially you will attend a Child Welfare Course (3 hrs) Safeguarding Children Course (3 hrs) to qualify as a Child Welfare Officer

2.       You will then undertake the role each time you attend either a game, training or event held by or involving anyone from AFC Brooklands, which will primarily involve anyone under 18 years of age

3.      You may be asked to attend 'refresher' events held by our County FA or AFC Brooklands activities to monitor reports of poor practice.
